Does CBD really help?
CBD and other various hemp products seem like they’re everywhere now. They come with claim after claim of being able to solve a myriad of ailments and issues. Although there are some falsehoods flying around about CBD, you may also still be wondering if CBD can help at all? We wanted to help you get to the conclusions of things.
CBD—cannabidiol—can be derived from the hemp plant (which is related to the marijuana plant famous for producing the “high”). Hemp plants, by law, cannot contain more than .3% THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Meaning, you won’t have to worry about CBD products getting you high. It is this CBD compound that scientists and other companies focus on in terms of giving you the claimed reliefs it is supposed to have.
Now you may have heard of CBD being able to cure a wide array of problems, possibly even cancer. CBD can’t cure cancer. However, plenty of studies have shown the great benefits of using CBD correctly. CBD is becoming more and more highly regarded for helping with these multitude of ailments because CBD has fewer side-effects than other prescriptions or other over-the-counter medications.
Assistant clinical professor from Harvard Medical School, Donald Levy, claims, “The most benefit I have seen as a physician is in treating sleep disorders, anxiety, and pain.” Although CBD is gaining more and more recognition as an impressive, natural remedy for some common ailments, it isn’t the super solution some brands are making it seem to be. When thinking about purchasing CBD products, try to be an informed buyer. If a brand you’re interested in is claiming CBD to be an all-in-one miracle worker, that could be a red flag.
The future looks bright for CBD and all CBD users. Who knows what CBD will be able to help with 5 or 10 years from now? We think it’s worth waiting to find out.
